Martin Godwin was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Charlotte. A 1992 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he also received his MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens University. Martin began his career in executive recruiting in 1997, working with two retained search firms before joining Cameron Carmichael as a Partner in 2011. Over 20+ years, he has led and conducted more than 250 engagements for clients in a variety of industries. Martin has built a track record of success working across all industry sectors served by Cameron Carmichael, with a particular focus supporting clients within the healthcare, private equity, nonprofit and complimentary sectors.
In addition to his professional activities, Martin is a founding member and past president of the Board of Directors of the Bridge Foundation, Board Member for the Myers Park High School Foundation as well as the Dilworth Center, and previous member of the Administrative Board and Staff Parish Relations Committee of Myers Park United Methodist Church. He is a member of the School Leadership Team of Myers Park High School and has previously served in leadership positions on the Boards of the McColl School of Business Graduate Alumni Association, the Family Center, ArtsTeach and the Arts & Science Council’s Annual Campaign Cabinet. Martin is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Americans for the Arts. Martin’s wife, Amy, is a physical therapist and they have two children. His spare time is spent coaching youth athletics, playing and performing music, exercising and participating in activities with his church including teaching Sunday School, engaged in local and global missions and serving as a Confirmation Mentor.
